Sensory Friendly Visits

A place for every child to explore, learn, and play.

At the Pensacola Children’s Museum, we believe every child deserves the chance to discover the world through play. We understand that new environments, unfamiliar sounds, bright lights and busy spaces can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Our goal is to help every child and family feel welcome, comfortable and ready to explore. Through sensory-friendly resources and thoughtful accommodations, we strive to make the museum experience more accessible for children with sensory sensitivities and individuals with diverse needs.

Plan Your Visit

A little preparation can make a big difference. We encourage families to explore our sensory-friendly resources before arriving so they can plan a visit that works best for their needs.

Sensory Bags and Headphones

Sensory resources are available to help visitors manage sensory input during their visit. Ask our team about available sensory kits and noise-reducing headphones when you arrive.

Quiet Space

Need a break from the excitement? A quiet space can offer visitors a place to pause, regroup and recharge before returning to the fun. The second floor of the museum features a sensory friendly quiet space.

Prepare Before You Arrive

Our visual visitor guide and social story on the Kulture City website help children and families become familiar with the museum before their visit. Exploring what to expect ahead of time can help make a new environment feel more comfortable.

Creating a Sensory-Inclusive Experience

Our team receives sensory-awareness training to better understand and support visitors with sensory needs. We strive to create an environment where every family feels welcome, respected and empowered to enjoy the museum in a way that works for them.

Whether you're planning your first visit or returning for another adventure, we're here to help make your experience a positive one.
