Gena Williams

Southern Storyteller Sharing Truth, Healing, and the Power of Personal Voice

Gena Williams was raised in a vibrant Southern family and a church where stories were prayed, sung, and preached, where she learned early that storytelling is the heartbeat of community. For more than forty years, she has been a professional storyteller—sharing stories in schools, churches, weddings, funerals, festivals, and even performing as a Whoopi Goldberg lookalike in Las Vegas.

As a Moth Producer, she has curated years of sold-out shows that give ordinary people extraordinary platforms to share their personal stories. As an instructor, she teaches others to discover, shape, and share narratives that heal, connect, and transform.

Her storytelling journey has taken her everywhere—from intimate community gatherings to the stage of Atlanta’s famous Punchline Comedy Club, where she blends humor, depth, and lived experience in the great tradition of Southern truth-telling.

Today, her work bridges personal development, cultural memory, and the power of narrative, helping people step into the stories that liberate them—and the ones they were born to tell.
